Non-U.S. North American Academic Department
Membership

Dues schedule
Non-U.S. North American
departments pay approximately one-third the U.S. academic membership
rate since some of CRA's activities are focused on U.S. programs and
government activities. If you have any questions regarding membership,
please e-mail members@cra.org.
Canadian departments:
In addition to the rights that they may enjoy
through CACS/AIC's affiliate membership, Canadian departments can join
CRA as individual academic members and receive additional benefits.
CRA’s
mission to support efforts that serve the academic community include:
- working
to influence policy that impacts computing research;
- encouraging
the development of human resources;
- contributing to the
cohesiveness of the professional community; and
- collecting
and disseminating information about the importance and the state of
computing research.
In addition
to the many CRA programs your dues support, you will receive the
following direct member benefits:
- Reduced registration fees for
CRA’s Conference at
Snowbird and other workshops
and seminars.
- Receive the final results of
CRA's Taulbee
Survey in mid-February (results are made public to
non-participants/-members in May).
- One first-class subscription
to Computing
Research News (CRN) for the department chair, and
unlimited regular subscriptions for qualifying faculty and staff.
- A
$300 credit toward a Professional Opportunities line or display ad.
CRA’s normal advertising package includes printing the ad in CRN
and distributing it electronically to CRA’s jobs listserv
and webpage.
- Free listings of CRA members and the CRA Forsythe
List of North American Ph.D.-granting departments in
computing-related disciplines, upon request, in electronic form, on
laser mailing labels, or in a hard copy (for approved purposes).
- The
right to vote in CRA
Board elections.
