My Mentor and Graduate Assistant
Mentor: Dr. Tiffany Barnes
Dr. Barnes is one of the professors that worked in the Games and Learning Lab. For this summer, she is working on the Games2Learn Project. The project focuses on designing games that can be used for teaching the basics of computer science.
Some of her research interests includes:
- Advanced Learning Technologies
- Artificial Intelligence, particularly used in Learning Environments
- Bioinformatics, particularly in modeling protein translation using coding theory
- Effective Teaching Methods
- Combinatorics, particularly Graph Theory related problems
Her hobbies and interests includes:
- dancing
- outdoor activities
- taking care of her cats
- playing games (She does work in the games and learning lab. What do you expect?)

Graduate Assistant: Eve Powell
Eve earned her B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Japanese at UNCC in Spring 2007. Now she's one of the graduate students working in the Games and Learning lab. She continues to study computer science with a concentration in game design. Her goal is to work with a game software company like SquareEnix or Namco.
Her hobbies and interests includes:
- making games
- playing games (especially rhythm games like Guitar Hero and DDR)
- Anime
- Final Fantasy games
- Spinach Dip
- Doritos
