CS Curriculum Accreditation Requirements
Broad-based core
- at least 16 semester hours
- must include basic coverage of algorithms, data structures, software design, concepts of programming languages, computer organization and architecture
At least 40 total CS hours
At least 16 hours of “advanced” computer science
- at least one course in three different areas (breadth)
- must build on the core (depth)
These things are not an issue for most CS programs since
they include no specific course requirements.
