A third-party evaluation of the project is currently being undertaken by the LEAD center at UW-Madison. This 1996 preliminary report provides an in-depth look at the experiences of students and mentors who have participated in the project, as well as recommendations for improving the project.

The 1997 report describes the impact of the research and mentoring experiences on the students, as well as the context from which they are coming to the project. It is more comprehensive than the 96 report.
