week.fourteen.home.sweet.home

Home after a 10 day whirlwind tour of BC. Goodness I'm exhausted and thankful for my own lumpy creaky old bed. It was nice to come into the lab and say hello to everyone and catch up with what had gone on in my absence. It's also nice to think that this lab is part of my home. I really appreciate the great group of people I have the privilege of sharing my workspace with. They're fantastic.

buzz.buzz.make.work.

Not an exciting week on the work front. I spent the week doing some changes Renee recommended on the code after my report from before I left for Vancouver. After that I had to reprocess Data with the changes. It was definitely a process. It's always loathsome to go back and look at code because you always find something you want to change. And every-time you change it one file, you know you should change it in all of them and reprocess all the data. You have to ask, "is this making a difference or me being a neat freak." Because 90% of the time it's me just wanting to change something superficial and freaking out. Either way. Not very exciting as far as all that goes for you all to read. Hopefully something new for you all next week.

tea.time.talk.for.me.

Anna Koop, who accompanied me on my trip to Vancouver gave a talk to the Reinforcement Learning group on our trip to Vancouver and I got to come and give my own two cents at the end of it all. It was kinda fun to let everyone know what I am working on and what I thought of all that went on at this conference. While I'm friends with a great many people in that group, not many of them really know what I do at work. I suppose many of them believe I'm there only to invade their lab every morning to tell a story and distract them for 10 minutes. Ha! Now they have to believe I do something with myselfe the other 7 hours of my day. Or they could just read this blog... hmm...
