I'm gonna warn you. This is gonna be on WHINEY update. I will try and be professional about it. But... some things can't be helped. And when I come in contact with windows products I tend to break out into whimpers and high pitched whining. It's sort of like my brain has an allergic reaction to things that just don't work well. Well, in reality I seldom in my life have had to use any windows products, in particular the Microsoft Office Suit. As a result, I'm slow and plodding and easily frustrated by them. This probably has nothing to do with the product, or less to do with the product than I am willing to suggest, but for this retelling I will cast them as the antagonist, as it is my story to tell. So without further ado, let the whining commence.

So the majority of the week has been spent doing some housecleaning. Going through all the "code" I've amassed and finding all those things I did out of ignorance when I first start. "Setting right what once went wrong" to quote one of my favourite television shows of all time (bonus points to anyone who knew what that was on first reading). Cleaning it up, making minor changes, having some free reign to experiment with changes I wanted to test. Little things. Making changes where there was need. Nothing new and revolutionary, but something that needed to be done before We wrapped up this preliminary portion of my summer. Then, assured that the models WERE INDEED in working order, I was to collect data and then postulate upon why our attempts were not as fruitful as we had originally anticipated. I struggled with the evil that is excel (ironically I almost accidentally typed eclipse there.. which would fit evil equally as well in my own opinion) in order to organize the volumes of numbers being spewed my way. In retrospect, I really should have changed their output format and done it in a manner where it could have done multiple repetitions and collected itself. But such unfortunately the computer I have to work on is somewhat tempermental and crashes several times a day unprovoked, and even more so when placed under too much stress. I've learned the hard way that the computer considers >100 runs of a model to be stressful. So numbers were crunched, data procured, and I fled at the end for a happy weekend.

Just a side note: I got permission to go camping next weekend! So I leave Friday the 21, camp camp camp with my compadres, and then return Monday. Only to fly out to Vancouver on Tuesday! CAN YOU FEEL THE EXCITEMENT! That is all.
