1992 CRA Distinguished Service Award presented to Joseph F. Traub Joseph F. Traub, the Edwin Howard Armstrong professor of computer science at Columbia University is the winner of the 1992 CRA Award for Service to Computing Research. Traub was honored for his leadership and service as the founding chair of the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board (CSTB) of the National Research Council. He held this position for six years. Under his leadership, CSTB became a major policy voice for the computing research community and has produced many important and influential reports and studies. His most recent report, Computing the Future: A Broader Agenda for Computer Science and Engineering, was released at the Snowbird Conference '92. Copyright © 2004 Computing Research Association.
